yeah i’m slightly conflicted. i know lens flare is seen as gimmicky but i suppose this is a movie and a genre generally associated with the video game generation and bloom is usually a really good thing in video game graphics even if historically it’s bad videography. i think that’s why it has never bothered me much. a unification of different media’s aesthetics
